In this series, we explore quiet calls to action, the kind that shape a life. We began with Be the One and Remember the Way. Next up: Take Pride, which invites us to recognize the worth in our everyday choices and to stand tall in who we are becoming.
Take Pride…
in who you are becoming, especially the small, daily choices that shape you. Take pride in how you walk, with quiet confidence, determined purpose, or a lightness that shows you’ve let go of what once weighed you down.
Take pride in the people you have in your life. Take pride in the ones who challenge you, who celebrate your small wins, who remind you of who you are when you forget. Take pride in the food you prepare for yourself, including carefully crafted meals or simple dishes made with deep love and care.
Take pride in how you carry yourself. Take pride in the way you show kindness when no one is watching, in the way you choose integrity over convenience, and in the way you hold space for others. Take pride in the way you’ve navigated tough situations, maybe even ones that once felt insurmountable. Take pride in how you stayed soft when life tried to make you hard, and take pride in how you found your way back to yourself even after getting lost.
Take pride in your patience. Take pride in how you’ve learned to wait without bitterness, to trust the timing of your life even when the answers haven’t come. Take pride in the way you sit with discomfort instead of rushing to escape it. Take pride in the way you breathe through fear, chaos, or uncertainty instead of shutting down.
Take pride in the small things that once felt impossible. Take pride in getting out of bed on a hard day, speaking up when your voice trembled, and setting a boundary that protected your peace. Take pride in your growth, even if it isn’t always visible, because it’s honest and real.
Take pride in your presence, in the way you show up, even when you’re tired or unsure, in the way you listen deeply and without distraction, in the way your stillness can make a room feel safe, and in being someone who brings warmth into cold spaces.
Take pride in becoming someone your younger self would be proud of, not because you’ve figured everything out, but because you never stopped trying.
When it feels like you’re still far from where you want to be, take pride in the fact that you're still here, still becoming, still showing up with an open heart.
Celebrate your gifts,
Matthew
This is very true. Wonderful photo of the snowy road.
